MIA detains three people for violence against media

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained three persons for violence against media representatives and thwarting their professional duties during the anti-Tbilisi Pride rally at Rustaveli Avenue on July 5.

Two individuals among the detainees were previously convicted. The MIA continues its investigation to identify other abusers and lawbreakers. The police have so far questioned twenty-five representatives of various media outlets.

Fifty-five persons, among them fifty-three media representatives, were assaulted during the anti-Tbilisi Pride rally, Interior Ministry said on Monday.
