“It is an honor to join this evening as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America. On behalf of the Government and the people of Georgia, I extend our warmest congratulations to the American people on this remarkable occasion,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the festive reception dedicated to the U.S. Independence Day held in the U.S. Embassy.

According to the PM, Independence Day is far more than a national celebration.

“Independence Day is far more than a national celebration. It is a tribute to enduring ideals of liberty, sovereignty, and self-determination. These ideals resonate deeply with Georgia’s own experience and aspirations. The principles enshrined in the American founding have shaped far more than a constitutional system. They have fostered a society that has become a global leader in innovation, science, education, entrepreneurship, and culture.

Guided by the enduring conviction expressed in the Declaration of Independence – that all people “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights” – the United States has built institutions that have encouraged creativity, rewarded initiative, and inspired generations far beyond its borders. From groundbreaking scientific discoveries and technological innovation to literature, cinema, and the arts, America’s contributions have left an enduring mark on the modern world.

This unique combination of philosophical vision of the Founding Fathers, strong institutions, and cultural vitality has enabled the United States to emerge as one of the world’s foremost powers and a leading force for progress and innovation,” he said.
