Officers of Anti-Corruption Agency of State Security Service detained Temur Gorgadze, Krtsanisi Majoritarian (single mandate) deputy of Tbilisi Sakrebulo (City Council), on charge of bribe-taking.
According to State Security Service, Gorgadze demanded 7,000 US dollars from a citizen in exchange for assisting his relative to be released by pardoning commission.
“On February 28, 2018, Temur Gorgadze received half of the requested amount – 3500 US dollars, during which he was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service.
The detainee faces imprisonment from 7 to 11 years if convicted.
