Mayor Kaladze: Tbilisi is our shared home, its care cannot rest on City Hall alone

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has appealed to the public to take care of the infrastructure that various municipal services have created for the city’s residents. He made the statement during the presentation of the updated equipment of Ecoservice Group LLC and once again expressed concern over ongoing acts of vandalism in the capital.

“I would like to make one request to every Tbilisi resident – let us take care of what we have created together. No square, park, children’s playground, or planted tree belongs only to City Hall. It belongs to our children, our families, and every Tbilisi resident.

Unfortunately, we still have cases of vandalism in the city, which is very disappointing. Vandalism is not just damage to municipal property. It is disrespect for the future of our city, our neighbors, and our children.

Tbilisi is our common home, and maintaining it cannot be the responsibility of City Hall alone. The city will be truly European when each of us feels responsible for the environment in which we live,” the Tbilisi Mayor said.

According to Kaladze, the municipality will continue to actively develop and renovate green spaces in the future.

“We will continue to be as responsible in the future as we have been in recent years in greening Tbilisi and creating an ecologically healthy environment. Our goal is for Tbilisi to be a city that every resident can be proud of—a city where cleanliness, order, greenery, and care for people are part of everyday life, because love for the city is not measured in words, but in daily work, responsibility, and awareness,” Kakha Kaladze said.
