A massive earthquake in Turkey has claimed the life of one Georgian national, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
“The Georgian Embassy was notified of the death of Georgian citizen N.Z. in Antakya. The diplomatic mission has been in contact with family members as well as Turkish government entities,” the Ministry informed.
This morning, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Turkey near the Syrian border, killing 912 people and injuring 5,385 others. The total number of deaths in Turkey and Syria has surpassed 1200.
