Mamuka Bakhtadze: I believe I’ve accomplished my mission at this stage
Mamuka Bakhtadze released a statement about his decision to resign from the post of Prime Minister. As Bakhtadze notes in his statement, his mission accomplished at this stage.
The purpose and main mandate of my nomination for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia in 2018 were to develop and implement a strategic framework for the development of the country, which would ensure the achievement of state goals in the coming years, would serve as a guide for the development of the country.
A strategic development framework has been developed, implemented and therefore I decided to resign as I believe that I’ve accomplished my mission at this stage.
It was a great honor for me and at the same time a great responsibility to serve as the Prime Minister of Georgia to protect the interests of our country.
I was and will be a member of the Georgian Dream and the devoted soldier of our country. I would like to thank my predecessors and wish success to the next Prime Minister,” – reads the statement published by Mamuka Bakhtadze.
Mamuka Bakhtadze was approved to the post of Prime Minister by the Parliament of Georgia on June 20, 2018.
From November 13, 2017 till June 20, 2018 Mamuka Bakhtadze served as the Minister of Finance of Georgia. Prior to his appointment as Minister, he held the position of Director-General of the Georgian Railway.
