Levan Makhashvili: Every future letter from Irakli Garibashvili should focus on explaining where he got so much unexplained wealth
“It seems this man is writing memoirs of his own political life; let the public judge how right or wrong it is to claim others’ achievements, including others’ successes, as his own,” MP Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration, told GPB First Channel.
According to Makhashvili, the former Prime Minister now has more time for political memoirs and is free to write.
“The main question is: where did the huge amount of unexplained wealth in his house come from? These are the central questions that must be answered. Otherwise, if he wants to talk to his public about what he accomplished or what political career he had, that belongs in his memoirs and books. The core questions in society remain unanswered: where did this unexplained wealth in his home come from? By the way, he admitted to this himself, which is why he is serving his sentence.
Therefore, he should not shift the focus to other topics, let alone start boasting and bragging about his past life. All the more so because he is greatly exaggerating matters. The key focus of every letter he writes going forward, and what the public expects, must be to explain how he acquired such massive unexplained assets,” Makhashvili stated.
