Lelo’s Mamuka Khazaradze urges Tbilisi residents to vote and prevent handing Tbilisi over to Kaladze and GD
“I want to appeal to everyone, the residents of Tbilisi, it is crucial that we do not let Tbilisi fall into the hands of the Georgian Dream and Kakha Kaladze. Abstaining from voting means voluntarily handing your support to the Georgian Dream, which has brought this country into a very difficult situation,” stated Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Lelo-Strong Georgia coalition.
Khazaradze emphasised that protests and elections are not mutually exclusive.
“Our goal is to see the election campaign, led by our majoritarian candidates and the joint candidate, Irakli Kupradze, in Tbilisi and beyond, come to a successful conclusion. The door-to-door campaign has been carried out effectively. You are aware that the atmosphere is very tense, but I want to emphasise to everyone in Tbilisi: we mustn’t hand over the city to the Georgian Dream and Kakha Kaladze. Not voting means voluntarily endorsing the Georgian Dream, which has placed the country in a critical situation.
Protest and elections can coexist. I urge everyone to participate in the elections, to vote for our joint candidate, Irakli Kupradze, and our single-mandate candidates, so that we do not surrender all municipalities across Georgia to the Georgian Dream. This is extremely important; all means of resistance must be employed,” Mamuka Khazaradze concluded.
