Lelo’s Gegelia: We don’t take Chergoleishvili’s statement seriously; Our goal is to fight alongside our voters, not seek unification
“I saw how people want to change reality, which requires proper work, not just eight, sixteen, twenty-five,” said Grigol Gegelia, a member of the Lelo-Strong Georgia party.
Gegelia explained that Lelo-Strong Georgia plans to continue its fight actively through ongoing campaigning.
“We don’t take Chergoleishvili’s statement seriously, so I won’t bother responding. We are not aiming to unite with anyone. Our plan is to fight alongside our voters, to grow and strengthen. Our goal is to contribute as much as possible to the peaceful overthrow of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Russian-backed regime. We saw this in these elections. I personally observed in my district the mood of the people, how they want to change reality, something that requires proper effort, not the creation of some unity, transformation, or arbitrary alliances like eight, sixteen, or twenty-five. To me, that’s simply ridiculous.
Frankly, I’m not interested in Chergoleishvili’s opinion in particular. What matters is the opinion of the Georgian people and the future we all share. We continue to work hard, actively, and in campaign mode, preparing for the elections that will undoubtedly take place,” Gegelia affirmed.
Tamar Chergoleishvili, leader of the Federalists party, stated on a media broadcast: “The ‘Eight’ no longer exists; what you will now witness is the real coordination among democratic parties, which neither the United National Movement (UNM) nor Lelo will be able to influence.”
