Lelo's Gegelia on Salome Zourabichvili: After October 5, you'll discover things public didn't know

“Today, I will not respond to Madam Salome Zourabichvili, but I can say that after October 5, we will discuss many matters more clearly and distinctly,” stated Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia-Lelo coalition.

Gegelia was asked about the former President’s remarks, in which she advised political parties not to participate in local elections, claiming that those who are running are doing so under government pressure.

“It will be very revealing for the public to understand who held what positions at particular moments. We have deliberately chosen to withhold certain information until after October 5. We haven’t attacked our colleagues, because unlike many, we possess more foresight and recognise that ending Ivanishvili’s regime in this country requires collective effort. However, after October 5, more truths will come to light, greater clarity will be attained, and this understanding will reveal who held what stance regarding the elections. The public will learn things they did not know before.

They will uncover a great deal about both the parties and non-party actors, the discussions that took place, who supported what, who obstructed processes, and who facilitated certain actions. This will also include details concerning Salome Zourabichvili herself.

We have prioritised the process and the spirit of unity. We will always do so, because we understand that collective efforts can help replace Ivanishvili’s rule. Yet, at the same time, we hear statements that contradict historical facts, including the positions and wishes expressed by individuals just one, two, or three months ago,” Gegelia said.
