Lelo’s Gegelia: If Tsulukiani has dreams, should someone be banned? Let Khazaradze and Japaridze be charged first; our fight will go on
“The banning of political parties is an outright declaration of dictatorship by the Georgian Dream regime, and this view holds even from an academic perspective. All Georgians must understand that Kobakhidze and his government have been openly announcing the onset of dictatorship; therefore, a proportionate reaction is required, because we are already living under a regime that resembles dictatorship,” stated Grigol Gegelia, a member of Lelo-Strong Georgia.
Gegelia went on to emphasise that it is expected that Lelo will also become entangled in this absurdity, despite having no connection to the periods of rule by the United National Movement or the United National Movement itself.
“If they have questions regarding Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, they should pursue charges against them; after all, they once tried and even lost the case entirely in court. If Tsulukiani dreams or has delusions at night, should someone be banned simply for that? If there are issues, those responsible should be held accountable. Regardless, we will continue fighting, and our approach will depend on the legal landscape and the space the regime allows for political activity. That space is shrinking every day, and I call on all Georgians to stand against the regime while they still can. Otherwise, tomorrow they may lose that chance, and very soon, we will be living under an official dictatorship,” Gegelia concluded.
