Gakharia for Georgia’s Sharashidze: Péter Magyar’s criticism of EU’s migration policy irrelevant; Georgians immigrate to EU countries
“The European Union can resolve all issues under democratic conditions. So, let us mind ourselves,” said Giorgi Sharashidze, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
According to Sharashidze, the focus should shift to migration problems in Georgia.
“Many others besides Péter Magyar (Prime Minister of Hungary) citicize the EU’s migration policy. We might have claims over the migration policy. However, the European Union is the institution which can resolve all issues under democratic conditions. So, let us mind ourselves. Let us address the issues facing Georgia, including migration.
Péter Magyar’s criticism of the EU’s migration policy is not the key problem or a challenge for us. What matters is that Georgians immigrate to the EU countries, including youngsters, the ones who should create wealth and prosperity in Georgia.
Shall I remind you who is taking their place? We all know very well who they are. When discussing these matters, we should not turn the subject into a bogeyman, portraying the European Union as something terrible, but rather recognize it as a normal occurrence. Trump also made remarks about the EU’s migration policy. Therefore, let the EU mind their business, and we mind ourselves,” he said.
