Lelo member says Georgia's place in Europe

“Georgia should continue heading to Europe and be ready for the moment to take a decisive step, which will happen by all means,” said Davit Usupashvili, a member of the opposition Lelo party.

According to Davit Usupashvili, Georgia’s place is in Europe.

“The statement of Georgia’s big friend, President of the European Council Charles Michel, confirms that the democratic world has agreed on Georgia’s place in Europe, European Union, and European standards in the future.  The only one, who has doubts is the confused Georgian Dream. Their irrational policy seriously hampered the progress when a unique chance appeared for Georgia and the country failed to receive candidate status.

Europe and the European Union tell us quite clearly that they are ready to see Georgia in this big family in terms of security, prosperity, freedom and everything good that a Georgian citizen could wish for. The Georgian Dream is afraid of freedom and a free citizen because Europe is based on a free citizen, not on some messiahs and saviors,” he said.

The European Union must be ready to admit new member states by 2030, European Council President Charles Michel told a forum in the Slovenian lake resort of Bled on Monday. “We will take a stand on the opening of negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova, and I also expect Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia to be back on the table,” Michel said.
