Lelo's Khazaradze: Gakharia for Georgia mirrors ruling party's slanderous attacks
“I had hoped you would offer an explanation or, at the very least, extend an apology,” stated Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, in response to the recent controversy surrounding a banner posted by the Gakharia for Georgia party on social media.
“I had hoped for an explanation or an apology. Now, I am convinced this was a deliberate attack. If I am mistaken, please correct me and explain,” Khazaradze expressed.
He criticized Gakharia’s party for echoing the ruling party’s long-standing slanderous propaganda against both him and Lelo.
“‘Today’s banner, disseminated by Gakharia’s party, bears a striking resemblance to the longstanding slanderous propaganda perpetrated by the Georgia Dream party against me and Lelo. Despite my earlier reservations, I had still hoped that you would offer a plausible explanation for this unfortunate misunderstanding and, at the very least, extend an apology. However, after careful consideration, I am now convinced that this was a deliberate attack. If I am mistaken, please correct me and provide a rational explanation’,” writes Mamuka Khazaradze.
Following the revocation of parliamentary mandates for 49 opposition members, a banner was shared on the Gakharia for Georgia Facebook page, stating: “49 Natsis (Natsi is usually referred to the United National Movement supporters) have been expelled from parliament; 89 Natsis remain.”
