The opposition Lelo party holds consultations with political forces and public figures with the purpose to form an alternative political centre and grab the votes of those, who support neither the Georgian Dream nor the United National Movement in the elections.
Irakli Kupradze, Lelo party’s General Secretary said that “fake unities ” are ineffective. According to Kupradze, the main goal is to have several poles instead of two ones that will give the opportunity to discuss alternatives and diverse ideas.
“We try to build unifications based on the content, the idea, the common goal, not on how many mandates someone can secure. Fake unities are never effective. Consultations are taking place with specific political parties, civil activists, public figures, even cultural representatives and independent political individuals,” he said.
