Justice Minister vows not to leave Polish doctors visit-related fact unattended

Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze vowed not to leave the fact related to the Polish doctor’s taking biological samples from ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili disregarded.

In the Tavisupali Khedva (Free Vision) Program of the GPB’s First Channel, Rati Bregadze said that relevant measures would be taken, but first, the government wanted to hear official explanations from the Polish side.

“We will study this fact independently and give it a legal assessment. However, we are trying to get an official explanation from the Polish side, because otherwise, of course, we cannot leave this fact without an appropriate legal response,” he said.

On July 14, the Special Penitentiary Service released a statement and video footage regarding a visit of Polish physicians to ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili at the Vivamed Clinic, saying a Polish doctor tried to illegally take out patient Saakashvili’s biological sample by hiding it in a shoe. The Foreign Ministry summoned the Acting Ambassador of Poland for explanations.
