Journalists protested the violence against media in the Georgian Parliament on Sunday. They held photos of the late TV Pirveli cameraman Lekso Lashkarava in their hands.
Lashkarava, 36, died on July 11, six days later after being severely beaten by a far-right mob during the anti-Tbilisi Pride rally on July 5.
Civil activists and media representatives demand the resignation of the Georgian Prime Minister and Interior Minister over Lashkarava’s death.
Today, Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri is scheduled to address the MPs over the July 5-6 events at the extraordinary session.
