Irakli Shotadze: All questions about Khorava Street murder case should be answered
Society has questions with regard to Khorava Street case, victims’ assignees have questions as well and these questions are legitimate for me – Chief Prosecutor Irakli Shotadze said at a special briefing held today.
It is important for me personally that these questions not to be remained unanswered and nobody has a feeling that something had been done improperly, – Chief Prosecutor said.
In addition, he noted at the briefing, that the Prosecutor’s Office disagrees with the verdict announced by the court and plans to appeal. According to Irakli Shotadze foreign prosecutors will be involved in the investigation of Khorava Street murder case.
“We have already communicated with the Lausanne Forensic Medical-Expert Bureau in Switzerland. We see that one of the important questions of the society and Zaza Saralidze is related to expert conclusions. We do not think any examination, conducted by the Samkharauli Bureau, is doubtful, but in order to reply to all the questions of the society and Zaza Saralidze, we have agreed with Lausanne Bureau that all the examinations conducted in Samkharauli Bureau, will be conducted by the Swiss Expert Bureau, too. We will send them all samples, evidence, materials and the society will be fully informed about this process,” – Irakli Shotadze said.
Tbilisi City Court has announced decision today. According to which, one of the defendants, who was charged for premeditated murder of two teenagers, was found guilty of premeditated murder of Levan Dadunashvili and announced not guilty with regard to Davit Saralidze’s murder case. As for the second defendant, the charge against him has been re-qualified. He has been found guilty of attempted murder of Saralidze, as previously he was charged for premeditated murder. The verdict of the judge was followed by the noise and protest.
