Prosecutors Conference to elect five Prosecutors Council Members

The Prosecutors Conference going on at the Hualing Hotel will elect five members of the Prosecutors Council.

General Prosecutor Irakli Shotadze, who opened the conference, spoke about the primary activities of the Prosecutors Council, established in compliance with the European Commission recommendations in 2015, aiming to ensure transparent and efficient work of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

According to Shota Tkeshelashvili, the Prosecutors Council Chair, the elected members will support prosecutors and investigators in their activities.

“They should contribute to the work of the prosecutor’s office. The Prosecutor’s Council has an enormous challenge in this regard,” he said.
