Irakli Kobakhidze at UN: Sustainable development means building a nation that offers health, security, and dignity to every citizen

For Georgia, sustainable development means building a country that offers every citizen a healthy, secure and dignified life, that turns economic growth into opportunities for all, protects its natural resources, and is served by institutions that work effectively and transparently,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in a video address at the “SDG Moment 2026” event held alongside the UN General Assembly session.

Addressing delegates in New York, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Georgia’s enduring commitment to the global sustainable development agenda.

“It is a pleasure to address the distinguished audience at the Sustainable Development Goals Moment 2026.

I would like to thank the United Nations for its continued leadership in advancing the 2030 Agenda and for bringing countries together to reaffirm our shared commitment to sustainable development.

Over a decade ago, we embarked on an ambitious journey towards 2030 to transform our world for the better and deliver tangible results for people and the planet. In 2015, we committed ourselves to building a world where no one is left behind. Georgia has been a steadfast partner in this shared mission and remains committed to accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
