Irakli Gharibashvili will visit Georgian peacekeepers in Afghanistan
Minister of Defence of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili will visit Georgian peacekeepers in Afghanistan. Georgian Defence Minister said this at the Command Centre of Ministry of Defence during the conversation with Georgian peacekeepers deployed in Afghanistan and the African continent.
When communicating via VTC, Irakli Gharibashvili pledged his support to the servicemen. The Minister said he would do his best to improve the social conditions of military personnel and enable them to serve their country in even better conditions.
Irakli Gharibashvili noted that he would visit Georgian peacekeepers in Afghanistan and be familiar with their activities on the ground.
For the present, the Georgian military contingent is performing a NATO-led Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan, one platoon is engaged in the EU-led training mission – EUTM RCA in the Central African Republic and Georgia is represented by one officer in EUTM Mali.
