Investigation Service arrests two individuals over possession of unexcised cigarettes on a particularly large scale

Officers from the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested two people for illegally possessing a particularly large quantity of unexcised goods, following an investigation into a pre-arranged group operation.

As a result of the investigation, 3,000 packs of various brands of non-excise cigarettes were seized from the residence of one of the accused. The total market value of the confiscated products stands at 19,200 GEL.

According to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, the probe is being conducted under Article 200, Part 2, Sub-paragraph ‘c ’, and Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a prison sentence of six to eight years.
