Interior Minister: Truth is our most powerful weapon; MIA never purchased so-called camite
Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Geka Geladze asserts that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has never purchased the so-called camite.
When asked about the statement made by the Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA) that they are initiating legal proceedings on behalf of citizens injured by substances mixed into the water cannons, Geka Geladze clarified that the term “camite” is not mentioned in their lawsuit.
According to Geka Geladze, the slander has been exposed as unfounded.
“The main weapon is the truth. I have repeatedly stated, with full responsibility, that not only was it said, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs has never purchased such a substance, the so-called camite. This slander has failed. It has been disproven. Perhaps now they are attempting to use different terminology, but it is not serious to continue discussing this,” Geka Geladze emphasised.
He also affirmed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not possess any substances that pose a danger to public health.
“The State Security Service initiated an investigation, provided information on what substances were used, and outlined the international standards and practices involved. Any substances we have are similar to those used in all developed countries. We do not possess any substances that are hazardous to public health,” Geka Geladze added.
