Interior Minister: All twenty bodies recovered; key aircraft debris secured for investigation

Following three days of relentless search efforts by Georgian and Turkish authorities, the remains of all twenty individuals on board have been recovered from the site of the Turkish military plane crash and the surrounding area in the Sighnaghi municipality.

“The bodies of all twenty crew members have been recovered. Yesterday, we transferred 19 of them to the morgue. Approximately half an hour ago, the twentieth body was located. Forensic experts and the investigation team continue their work at the scene. All technical equipment and aircraft fragments essential to the investigation have been collected, and examinations are currently underway. Over 1,000 personnel from both Georgia and Türkiye have been involved in the rescue and investigation efforts.

I extend my gratitude to the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Defence Forces, and our Turkish counterparts for their dedicated efforts,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze.

The Turkish military aircraft tragically crashed on November 11, approximately five kilometres from the Georgian border.
