Gov’t working to raise property tax threshold, majority leader says

Irakli Kirckhalia, leader of the parliamentary majority, says relevant government agencies are actively working to increase the existing threshold for property tax.

Speaking after a meeting of the parliamentary majority, Kirckhalia said raising the current threshold was important for citizens.

“The Finance and Budget Committee, together with the Ministry of Finance, is actively working on an important decision for our society. Specifically, we are working on increasing the current threshold for individuals in terms of property taxation — the threshold above which property tax becomes applicable.

We are working very actively on this issue, which will have a positive impact on our citizens,” Kirckhalia said.
