Interim Investigation Commission into murder case of Khorava Street established

Interim Investigation Commission into murder case of Khorava Street, a bloody conflict among teenagers on December 1, 2017 that claimed lives of two juveniles, has been established in the Georgian Parliament.

Lawmakers voted for membership of the commission during the plenary session. The 95 MPs voted for, 1- against.

The Commission will have 17 members: Sergi Kapanadze, Otar Kakhidze, Elene Khoshtaria, Otar Abesadze, Sergo Ratiani, Khatuna Gogorishvili, Mamuka Chikovani, Giga Bokeria, Irma Nadirashvili – European Georgia Party;

Anri Okhanashvili, Dimitri Tskitishvili, Mamuka Mdinaradze, Eka Beselia, Sofo Kiladze, Archil Talakvadze – Georgian Dream;

Salome Zurabishvili –Independent MP; Ada Marshania –Patriots’ Alliance. Sergi Kapanadze will head up the Commission.

The commission has been established with term of 3 month. However, its work term can be extended by one month three times. The authorities of the commission should not exceed 6 months.
