Speaker Papuashvili: Foreign agents are foreign agents; opposition shake-ups will bring no good to Georgia
“Foreign agents are foreign agents, regardless of whatever reshuffling takes place within the opposition,” the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists.
According to Papuashvili, political groups acting as foreign agents will bring absolutely nothing good to the country.
“On the whole, these reshuffles are of little significance. The fundamental issue plaguing these groups is their nature as foreign agents. This is evident in the fact that their actions are invariably aimed at foreign powers, factions, and states.
They base their entire agenda on instructions handed down from abroad and on how to curry favour with external actors, whilst giving no thought whatsoever to the Georgian people. They do not think, first and foremost, about how to win the approval of the Georgian public. So, foreign agents are foreign agents. It makes no difference what kind of shifting around happens here. Political groups serving as foreign agents cannot bring anything good to this country,” Shalva Papuashvili declared.
