Economy Minister: Kazakhstan visit crucial for Georgia’s economy and Middle Corridor success
“We enjoy an exceptional partnership with Kazakhstan across transport and tourism, particularly in the context of the Middle Corridor, as well as in trade,” stated Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, regarding the Georgian government delegation’s visit to Kazakhstan, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, this visit is of paramount importance for Georgia, the further development of the nation’s economy, and the strengthening of existing friendly relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Economy Minister noted that during the visit, the Georgian delegation will hold several high-level meetings with top Kazakh officials.
“I believe this will be a milestone visit, featuring numerous bilateral meetings, including talks between the Prime Ministers of both nations, as well as with the President of Kazakhstan. We will also hold bilateral meetings with our counterparts to discuss how we can further deepen relations between our countries,” Kvrivishvili remarked.
The Economy Minister placed particular emphasis on the shared role of both nations within the Middle Corridor project.
“I would like to highlight, in particular, the role of our two nations within the context of the Middle Corridor, given that freight traffic directly through this route is already growing substantially. We collaborate exceptionally closely with Kazakhstan, and as a result of these joint initiatives, we see tangible results practically every month. During this visit, we intend to focus heavily on further cooperation within the transport and logistics sectors,” the Economy Minister stated.
According to Kvrivishvili, several memoranda of understanding will be signed during the visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, specifically covering tourism and information technology.
