Bank deposits in Georgia reach GEL 73.93 billion at end of July
The volume of deposits placed in Georgia’s banking sector, excluding interbank deposits, reached GEL 73.93 billion at the end of July 2026, according to the National Bank of Georgia.
The figure represents an increase of GEL 410.97 million, or 0.56%, compared with the end of the previous month.
According to the central bank, annual deposit growth, excluding the effect of exchange rate changes, stood at 20.90%.
In July, term deposits increased by GEL 527.79 million, or 1.46%, compared with the previous month, while demand deposits decreased by GEL 116.82 million, or 0.31%.
The deposit larization ratio reached 56.81% at the end of July, up 0.65 percentage points from the end of June.
The National Bank also reported that the average weighted market interest rate on term deposits stood at 7.12% in July. The average rate was 8.91% for deposits denominated in the national currency and 2.52% for foreign-currency deposits.
Among foreign-currency deposits, the US dollar accounted for 77.16%, while the euro accounted for 20.30%.
