Inter-Agency Commission urges electoral stakeholders to act within law, foster free pre-election environment

The Inter-Agency Commission for Free and Fair Elections convened its regular session at the Ministry of Justice.

During the meeting, members reviewed and discussed media reports related to the ongoing election environment monitoring, focusing on potential violations of electoral legislation by public officials.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the session also addressed a separate incident that took place during a protest rally near the election headquarters of a mayoral candidate.

“The Inter-Agency Commission calls on all participants in the election process to act within the framework established by law and to contribute to the organisation of the pre-election period in a free and peaceful manner. The Commission, established under the Election Code, aims to prevent violations of electoral legislation by public servants, respond swiftly to any breaches, and develop appropriate recommendations. The body is headed by the Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, and includes senior representatives from various state agencies, ensuring coordinated and effective oversight.

Information related to issues within its remit can be submitted via email at [email protected] or through the hotline: (+995) 599 85 00 11.

The Commission will continue its work until the official publication of the final election results by the Central Election Commission and will hold weekly sessions,” the statement reads.
