For Georgia’s Sharashidze: If Garibashvili thinks his wave of whistleblowing will save him from a fair trial, he is sorely mistaken
“Irakli Garibashvili’s latest letter confirms once again how dirty, treacherous, corrupt, and unscrupulous Georgian Dream has become; a party that originally came to power with the support of the majority of the Georgian people,” the Gakharia For Georgia party’s MP Giorgi Sharashidze declared.
According to Sharashidze, treacherous acts within the ruling party have escalated significantly over the past six years.
“If Garibashvili believes that the series of ‘snitching’ and betrayals he has unleashed will help him escape the verdict of an impartial court, he is sorely mistaken. What matters most is that not only Garibashvili, but also Mdinaradze and Kobakhidze will face a strict trial and punishment for their numerous crimes, whether today or tomorrow, under this administration or a new one. They face harsh judgment from the Georgian people and a government elected by the people, and all three of them should prepare for it,” Sharashidze stated.
He further questioned what expectations anyone could hold for a party riddled with foreign agents and former United National Movement (UNM) figures.
“As for those remaining within Georgian Dream, they are delusional if they think the public cannot see that no one there is an angel. When their leaders are such criminals, how are they any different? What could we possibly expect from a party filled with so many agents and former ‘UNMists’? This is the grim reality exposed by the new wave of betrayals and denouncements initiated by Garibashvili.
Regarding the suicides, these cases demand an independent and impartial investigation. The only thing I can say about these suicides is that they prove once again that the UNM and Georgian Dream are not only indistinguishable, but each is worse than the other. We remember all too well the numerous suicides and murders during the UNM’s tenure, and now that list is compounded by unresolved, suspicious suicides under Georgian Dream. It is a tragic reality that Georgian Dream continues to mirror the United National Movement’s signature methods. There is no longer any difference between them; they are two sides of the same coin, and regrettably, these suicides come as no surprise. Georgian Dream is walking the same path and employing the same playbook,” Giorgi Sharashidze concluded.
