Georgian Railway launches reconstruction of Tbilisi Central 

Georgian Railway has launched the reconstruction of Tbilisi Central.

Based on the project, the first, second, and third platforms will be completely renovated. The dismantling of the existing platforms has begun; in their place, new, higher, modern-style platforms will be constructed within the central station area.

Instead of underground passes, 4 escalators will be arranged with renovated waiting areas. During the rehabilitation process, fire alarm devices and emergency lighting will also be installed.

The total cost for the complete renovation of Tbilisi Central is approximately 7 million GEL. Georgian Railway plans to complete the reconstruction works at Tbilisi Central in the autumn of 2027.
