“An ambulance crew will go on call if a person’s body temperature rises to 38C or above, also in case of one of the following complaints – cough, sore throat, headache, runny nose/stuffy nose, muscle/joint pain and diarrhoea. If the patient belongs to a risk group,” says the order of the Georgian Minister of Health signed on November 12.

According to the order, risk groups include patients at age 65 and older; In cases of pregnancy, postpartum period (two weeks), concomitant chronic conditions: hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, immunosuppressive conditions, dialysis.

On top of that, if the operators received a call from the street/facility; If the patient is a foreigner; If the patient is a 5-year-old or younger.

In the case of heart problems, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, colic, etc. the call will not be transferred to the family doctor.
