IDS Borjomi employees continue rallies

Employees of the IDS Borjomi mineral water company continue to rally as they object to the new labor contract conditions and the dismissal of some staff.

Trade Union representative Giorgi Diasamidze, who met the protesters, pledged the union would support the employees in court. He added the employees would continue working in case of resumption of the factory while the 21-day mediation process was over and promised the protest would continue and gain scale if the talks reached no agreement.

IDS Borjomi, one of the largest mineral water producers in Georgia, has temporarily suspended production at both of its plants in Georgia after the war in Ukraine, and sanctions on Russian-owned businesses created “difficulties” for the producer to deal with its major markets.
