Helicopter engaged in extinguishing of fire in Zeskho village

A helicopter of Border Police of Ministry of Internal Affairs has become involved in extinguishing of the fire, which broke out in a forest of Zeskho village, Mestia Municipality of Svaneti region.

Thunder is said to have caused the fire. The 120 fire-fighters and rescuers are mobilized at the site, which is difficult to access for heavy vehicles as Emergency Situations Management Service reports.

About 2.5 hectares of territory is burnt. The fire is being localized.
