Health Ministry reports on expanded medication programs for children diagnosed with cancer

The medication programs for children diagnosed with oncologic diseases have expanded to include three additional Turkish clinics, the Georgian Health Ministry reported.

Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze recently visited Medicana International Clinic, MC Hospital, and Medipol Mega University Hospital, which have now joined the program. During his visit to Türkiye, he had the opportunity to meet with Georgian children and their parents.

Currently, eight clinics across Türkiye, Spain, and Israel are participating in the treatment of Georgian patients.

Launched in August 2023, the program for children diagnosed with cancer provides coverage for standard courses of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, and proton therapy.

Since its inception, the program has facilitated treatment for 157 beneficiaries, with 100 patients having already completed their treatment.

The Georgian government fully finances the medical care of Georgian children in Türkiye, Spain, and Israel.
