Governor of California on opening of Consulate General of Georgia in San Francisco: Welcome to Golden State

Lt. Governor of California, Eleni Kounalakis took part in the virtual opening ceremony of the Consulate General of Georgia in San Francisco, Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.

“Welcome to Golden State! We are very proud that you have joined the strong consular corps in California,” stated Kounalakis.

Lt. Governor of California noted that this decision will help to strengthen and expand trade and cultural ties between Georgia and California, to develop cooperation in the field of winemaking and to involve Georgian students in prominent world-class colleges and universities.

On September 30, 2020, the Consulate General of Georgia was officially opened in San Francisco.
