Girchi's Khvichia: No opposition party aims to defeat 'Kotsis', which is why we chose our own path

“We explained six months ago that this would turn into a political mess—some parties would participate in the elections, others wouldn’t. There wouldn’t be a full boycott or anything like that,” said Iago Khvichia, one of the leaders of Girchi.

According to Khvichia, the party decided to use this opportunity to identify its supporters and attract new followers.
“Neither the ‘Nazis’ nor the newly formed Galileo party actually aim to defeat the Kotsis (Georgian Dream). We know we can’t do it alone, which is why we’ve chosen to follow our own path in Georgian politics from the beginning. Any division within the opposition only serves the interests of Georgian Dream. I am convinced that these internal conflicts are being orchestrated by Georgian Dream itself.

This cycle of mutual accusations and broken promises among the opposition is exactly what has allowed Georgian Dream to remain in power for so long,” he said.

“There is currently no clear winning strategy in these elections. While we want to win, we lack the necessary resources. The rest are merely fighting for second place. The right path is to shape and communicate a clear vision for the Georgia we want after the Georgian Dream. Only then can we truly defeat them,” Khvichia concluded.
