Girchi’s Iago Khvichia: True outcome of clownery staged by so-called revolutionaries results in society being deceived, and elections losing sense

“The results of the clownery orchestrated by the so-called revolutionaries in our country are now crystal clear. The society has been fooled, and the elections have, in essence, lost all significance,” said Iago Khvichia, the Tbilisi mayoral candidate for the Girchi party.

Khvichia emphasised that someone must take responsibility for the fact that the Georgian Dream secured 80 per cent of the support.

“The outcome of the clownery carried out by these so-called revolutionaries is now crystal clear. They have misled the public and rendered the elections practically meaningless. Their actions have put the people in danger, and in some ways, they have exposed themselves to potential repercussions. Their reckless behaviour and lack of responsibility have cost them their moral high ground.

Meanwhile, they have handed over 80 per cent of the local government mandates to the Georgian Dream, including in Tbilisi, even though everyone knows Tbilisi does not support Kaladze. This is a strange, unjust, and frankly unfair result.

I want to thank those who supported us. Many are still congratulating me and perhaps our party, but the reality remains: the fact that the Georgian Dream has secured 80 per cent is catastrophic, and someone must take responsibility for it. We cannot, on one hand, continue to manipulate people’s emotions and hand elections over to the Georgian Dream, and on the other, continue to put so many citizens in danger,” Khvichia stated.
