Giorgi Gakharia addressed the protesters in Pankisi Gorge

“No one will be allowed to violate the rights of neither a single citizen of Georgia, nor uniformed people, nor the workers of the construction. We should talk about it”, – Minister said.

Several people have been injured, including journalists, during the confrontation between protesters and special force units in the Pankisi Gorge today. Several people have been detained, however, no official information in that regard has been released.

Protesters threw stones and sticks at the police. The law enforcers used tear gas and rubber bullets.

Locals of Pankisi Gorge are expressing protest against the construction of the Hydro Power Plant Khadori 3 in the Gorge.
