PM: We remain convinced that time has come to reboot our strategic partnership through a roadmap that sets out shared priorities, strategic objectives
“For decades, Georgia has been acting as the loyal, reliable and responsible partner to the United States,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the U.S. Embassy at the festive reception dedicated to the U.S. Independence Day.
According to the PM, Georgia consistently engaged with the United States on regional security matters.
“When the United States required cooperation on strategic priorities, Georgia, in its capacity as a loyal partner, responded with steadfast commitment.
Recent developments indicate that the South Caucasus is gaining growing strategic importance in both regional and global contexts. This reflects a combination of geographic, economic, and geopolitical factors. As the South Caucasus assumes greater strategic importance, Georgia’s role becomes critical,” he said.
Irakli Kobakhidze stated that at a time of profound geopolitical change, Georgia believes that strengthening and formalizing partnership serves the mutual interests of both nations.
“Despite the challenges that have emerged in recent years, we remain convinced that the time has come to reboot our strategic partnership through a roadmap that sets out shared priorities, practical mechanisms for cooperation, and clearly defined strategic objectives. Georgia proposes a strategic partnership based on mutual respect, fairness, and a clear framework for cooperation.
We stand ready to engage in direct dialogue to define shared priorities, establish practical mechanisms for implementation, and deliver measurable results for both nations. Our ongoing engagements have built solid momentum, reinforcing our optimism for a deeply constructive and forward-looking partnership.
With that spirit of partnership in mind, let me extend my congratulations to the American People. May the friendship between our nations continue to flourish, and may the partnership between Georgia and the United States grow stronger in the years ahead! Happy Independence Day, and thank you!” he said.
