“Brussels needs a dialogue with Georgia, not for Georgia but for the European future, and this is a common interest,” Georgian Foreign Minister and Vice Prime Minister Maka Botchorishvili said in a live broadcast of Imedi TV.

Speaking about relations with the European Union, the Foreign Minister noted that cooperation between Georgia and the European Union “has a solid foundation, but its further development requires the will of both sides.”

Maka Botchorishvili emphasized that Georgia’s strategic course is unwavering and that Georgia is anticipating with “strategic patience” when Brussels aknwledges the significance of a dialogue with Georgia.

“Georgia has determined this strategic direction, and we can anticipate wth strategic patience when Brussels will acknowledge that dialogue is crucial both for Georgia and the European future, and this is a common interest.

However, we have the opportunity and time to wait until the individuals, who are obliged to pursue foreign policy and strengthen EU future ties in different directions, acknowledge that we have things to do, develop our links, which is not only in the interests of Georgia and will be beneficial for Georgia but is in the common interest,” she said.
