Georgia’s Protected Areas Agency: 243,777 visitors to protected territories in January-May
Georgia’s protected areas received 243,777 visitors during the first five months of 2025, according to the Agency of Georgia’s Protected Areas.
The agency said 40% of visitors were Georgian citizens, whilst 60% were foreign nationals.
Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon, Sataplia, Tsalka Canyon and Mtirala National Park received the highest number of visitors between January and May.
“These figures once again confirm visitors’ growing interest in Georgia’s unique nature,” the Agency said.
The agency said it continues to promote protected areas, improve infrastructure and develop services.
Major development projects for Tbilisi National Park and Birtvisi Canyon Natural Monument are being implemented this year, according to the agency. These projects will be completed by the end of the year, providing visitors with well-equipped and safe facilities.
