Georgia's foreign trade shows slight growth in first four months of 2026

According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), Georgia’s foreign trade in goods (excluding undeclared transactions) for the period January to April 2026 reached USD 8,132.1 million, representing a 1.7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

GeoStat reports that exports during this period amounted to USD 2,439.8 million, marking a significant 21.1 per cent increase. Conversely, imports declined by 4.9 per cent, totalling USD 5,692.3 million.

The trade deficit for the first four months of 2026 stood at USD 3,252.5 million, accounting for 40.0 per cent of Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover.
