Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili met the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borell, in Brussels.
During a face-to-face meeting held ahead of the Georgia-EU Association Council sitting, the sides discussed Georgia’s progress in economic, political and democratic reforms.
Geopolitical processes, situation across the occupied territories and Georgia’s ambitious plan to make an official application for EU membership in 2024 were discussed during the meeting.
PM reconfirmed the Georgian government’s readiness for the result-oriented constructive political dialogue with the opposition. He thanked Josep Borell for the EU-backed negotiations and for support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
