Georgian PM: Local proxy agents in conflict with OSCE/ODIHR; we welcomed 2024 post-election assessment

“It is perfectly clear who is actually in conflict with the OSCE/ODIHR; it is the local proxy agency and their superiors, not us. We welcomed the assessment published by the OSCE/ODIHR following the 2024 parliamentary elections,” the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, stated during a briefing at the Government Administration.

Regarding the 2028 elections, the Head of Government noted that the decision concerning the invitation of observation missions will be made during the election year itself.

“The elections will take place on October 28, 2028, and decisions on inviting observation missions are typically made at the beginning of the election year. Therefore, I advise everyone to wait until 2028, when the appropriate decision will be taken. We have no conflict with anyone. The OSCE/ODIHR recognised the previous elections, declaring them valid and competitive. It was others who chose to oppose them openly. Among them were the local proxy agency, the so-called opposition and their foreign superiors. They launched an open attack on the OSCE/ODIHR.

Consequently, it is very clear who conflicts with the organisation. It is the local proxy agency and their superiors, not us. We welcomed the conclusion published by the OSCE/ODIHR after the 2024 parliamentary elections. It was the local proxy agency and their foreign superiors within the Deep State who targeted the OSCE/ODIHR. This is the reality of the situation. As for 2028, the only thing I can tell you is that we must wait until 2028, given that the decision to invite missions is made precisely during the election year,” the Prime Minister concluded.
