Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has congratulated the country’s Muslim community on the festival of Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram).
The head of government visited Tbilisi’s mosque alongside the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues to mark the religious holiday.
During his visit, Kobakhidze spoke about the “significant contribution” of the Muslim community to the country’s development and pledged continued state support.
“Our country takes pride in both its ethnic and religious diversity,” the Prime Minister said. “We are very proud of the relationships and friendship that have been established between us. We take great care of this and will continue to do so in the future.”
He emphasised the government’s commitment to protecting Muslim community interests, saying: “Georgia’s government takes maximum care of the Muslim community’s interests and this will continue in the future.”
Kobakhidze thanked the community for their contribution to national progress, adding: “You have made a very significant contribution to our country’s advancement and development, and I want to express great gratitude for this.”
