Georgian parliamentary delegation holds high-level meetings at Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis

A delegation from the Parliament of Georgia, led by Deputy Speaker Nino Tsilosani, is currently on a working visit to Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the visit, members of the parliamentary delegation held talks with representatives of the Milli Majlis committees to discuss bilateral partnership and cooperation. The two sides reviewed ways to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and underlined the importance of inter-committee collaboration between their respective parliaments.

“During our meetings, we discussed the steadfast political support Azerbaijan consistently extends to Georgia. The cooperation between our two nations carries special significance, as it reinforces regional connectivity. This is precisely the function of the ‘Middle Corridor’, which is being realised through joint Georgian-Azerbaijani efforts. On international platforms, our two countries reinforce one another. Joint, large-scale infrastructure projects serve to ensure the economic resilience of each nation and solidify the region’s overall strategic standing,” stated Nino Tsilosani.

Members of the Georgian delegation thanked the representatives of the friendly state for condemning and refusing to recognise the so-called elections held in Georgia’s occupied territories.

The meetings held at the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan were attended by members of the Georgian parliamentary delegation, including: Shota Berekashvili, Chairman of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee; Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Azerbaijan; as well as fellow Friendship Group members Anton Obolashvili, Savalan Mirzoev, and Zaur Dargali.
