Georgian Health Minister holds talks with WHO representative Joao Breda
Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze met with WHO Representative to Georgia Joao Breda to discuss bolstering the country’s primary healthcare network.
During the talks, Sarjveladze highlighted the strategic importance of reinforcing primary healthcare systems, emphasising that improving access to medical services—particularly across rural and regional areas—remains a top priority for the ministry.
The ministry said discussions centred on expanding local healthcare networks, bringing quality treatment closer to rural communities, and addressing urgent operational needs in the regions.
The two sides also explored opportunities to integrate international standards and global best practices into Georgia’s primary care development strategy, agreeing to deepen bilateral cooperation with the World Health Organisation.
