“The latest US State Department report gives Georgia top marks for its anti-trafficking measures,” said Beka Dzamashvili, the First Deputy Minister of Justice. “This is a major milestone, proving that our fight against human trafficking meets the very highest standards.”

He noted that the top classification spans prevention, proactive detection, the prosecution of perpetrators, and comprehensive support and care for victims.

“This coordinated effort is managed through the Inter-Agency Council, chaired by the Minister of Justice, and represents the effective output of all relevant state bodies. This achievement is all the more striking given that half of EU member states failed to meet this standard. In contrast, Georgia has consistently demonstrated high performance for eleven years running,” Dzamashvili said.

“This proves that our measures are both systemic and well-conceived. Combating transnational organised crime remains a key priority for our administration, and we continue to maintain close cooperation with all partner states.”
